In formative years we do not give enough weight-age to proper assessment & counselling to select best-fit course and career.
In school students, parent is deciding factor and their attitude for better teaching/learning will shape the future of the child.
I agree with the industry, when they say that 80% of all engineering graduates are unemployable. Government does appoint agencies and fund them to do these surveys but, are they really bothered to find the solution for this pressing problem?
We usually think that 10th standard is the first step towards selection of career path, but after conducting thousands of assessments for class 10th students, it has been seen that somewhere you need to inculcate this thought process early in class 7th to 9th bracket in order to prepare them for the big shift after 10th.
One has to always have an open resume to build capacity to avoid going the way of the occupational dinosaur, workers of all ages must think about acquiring the training that makes them more marketable.
