With website builders, anyone can build a website. However, how successful that website is depends on how much targeted traffic gets to your site. Targeted traffic is people that visit your site because you have something they need or want, not just because they stumbled onto it blindly. There are many website ideas for targeting traffic.
First and foremost, every single page of your website should target a specific keyword or phrase. Some pages may target more than one keyword, but there should be no more than three or four keywords or phrases on each page. This will put you in the search engines for your key words, which will in turn mean that people who search those key words will make it to your website.
You target keywords in several ways. First, you have to focus on content. You should provide informative content that is rich in keywords without being stuffed with them. In other words, in your website ideas you should develop content that can be easily read by humans, but has plenty of key words for the search engines.
There are several website ideas for targeting traffic that use keywords in other ways. For example, all of your titles, page names, and headings should reflect your keyword choices. In addition, you can use your keywords in naming your graphics, creating captions for your graphics, and in your product descriptions. You should also use your keywords in your page description metatag and title metatags.
Once you have done all you can to optimize your site for targeting traffic, you should work on website ideas for targeting traffic outside of your own website. For example, you can submit your website to link directories, trade links with non competitive sites in your industry or niche, or submit articles to article directories. Anything that will get your website out there should be considered.
Finally, once you have done all you can to drive traffic to your site, you need to know what works and what does not. This is best determined by using Google Analytics. Google Analytics is a web based application that tracks the visitors to your site. The data gathered can tell you what part of the world your visitors came from, when they visited, what key words they used to find your site, which page of your site they landed on, and if they got to your site via a link from Another site. All of this information is completely free. All you need to do is set up an account and follow the easy instructions for adding your web pages to the account. For each web page you will be given HTML code to install on your pages. This is fairly easy to do in any web builder that offers a WYSIWYG editor.
