We are human beings and we may tend to be negative, most of the time. At work or in personal life we always encounter frustration, anger, embarrassment which push us towards negative thinking. To overcome, one must think clearly, objectively and act accordingly to manage emotions.

Self-confidence

Believing your abilities to achieve anything and knowing that all you need is within you is one part and the other is strong self-esteem, to love yourself is Self-confidence. In nutshell it is the belief in oneself and abilities, it describes an internal state made up of what we think and feel about ourselves. This state is changeable according to the situation we are currently in and our responses to events going on around us. It is not unusual to feel quite confident in some circumstances and less confident in others.

In challenging situations how you stay calm, balanced, logical and healthy is stress management. If you can manage your stress your productivity will increase enabling you to take new challenges and coming out with flying colours. Stress has direct impact on physical and emotional health and if you can equip yourself to handle stress and not bother your heart, probably you can manage to stay fit even in adverse situations. Today in corporate world to achieve success, you must manage stress better, no escape. It is the survival of the fittest.

Ability to Bounce-back

Failures and setbacks are part and parcel of life and particularly in corporate world. You ask any top executive, he will tell you about his failures and setbacks he must have encountered despite being doing nothing wrong. Putting everything behind and continue efforts to move onwards and upwards will make you resilient and bounce back every single time to every single time in life. Even competitors will appreciate this ability of yours.

Forgive & Forget

In a world when we are not perfect so, can we expect people around us to be perfect. We are all imperfect and sometimes things just happen out of anger, jealousy and competition. If we really want to move ahead in life we must learn to forgive people. But can you carry that emotional baggage with you for entire life and let your emotional health suffer, better forgive and forget to concentrate on better things in life and career. This commonly happens at workplace and we keep grudge on people, spoil work environment and our work suffers. So, better shake hands to forgive and forget. It will help you to focus your energy on your near and long-term career goals.

3Ps – Patience, Persistence and Perseverance

Moving steadfastly or firmly to achieve a particular goal in life with patience by bearing all provocations, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint or losing temper or irritation, is being patient and persistent. The perseverance is to target that goal despite of difficulties, obstacles and discouragement. All three are fundamental skills to succeed in corporate world, killer skills to have in tough times.

Empathy

Understanding and giving attention to other people’s perspective and situation by sensing the unspoken cues is important today to know your own abilities in social and corporate situations. We are usually so engrossed in ourselves that we leave little or no room to understand others and fail to notice their actions and intentions. If you misinterpret this, you will encounter difficulty in dealing with people and will not even know why.
